Easy 3 Ingredient Pancake Recipe to make with kids

It’s Pancake Tuesday, aka Shrove Tuesday, this week and if you’re looking for the easiest ever pancake recipe to whip up with the kids then keep reading!

There are a million pancake recipes out there but for Pancake Tuesday I like to make a super simple crepe style pancake made with just three basic ingredients that you probably already have at home.

Kids making pancake batter

For this recipe all you’ll need is:

You can’t get much more simple than that! You’ll also need some butter or oil to grease the pan, although just a very small amount.

And you don’t need any fancy equipment either. Just a large bowl and a hand whisk. This is where you can get the kids involved. Get them to mix the batter until it is completely smooth with no lumps.

Cooking the pancake is just as easy. You just need to very lightly coat a frying pan with some butter or oil and then add a ladle of the batter to the pan. Swirl it around really quickly so that the batter coats the entire surface of the pan and then cook for about a minute on either side.

If you’re feeling confident then have a go at flipping the pancakes! Just be careful as the pan will be very hot.

Flipping Pancakes

I like a simple topping of sugar and lemon juice on my pancakes but feel free to get creative with chopped fruit, yogurt, nutella or jam.

You can also make savoury pancakes. Treat it like a wrap for a delicious dinner!
