If you’re at that point in the school holidays where you’ve run out of meal ideas for the kids then know that you’re not alone! Cooking and recipes is my job but I still get tired of thinking of what to feed the family on a daily basis!

This idea is super simple and I often make it for the kids for a speedy hot lunch. It’s barely a recipe to be honest, just three ingredients! But it’s quick, easy and cheap to make too.

Cream cheese, Macaroni pasta and frozen peas laid out on worktop.

Ingredients & Substitutions

The three ingredients needed for this recipe are:

  • Pasta – I used macaroni but any pasta shapes will work
  • Frozen Peas – If your children don’t like peas then you can substitute for frozen sweetcorn or mixed frozen veggies will work too as long as they are chopped small.
  • Cheese Spread – I love the Seriously Spreadable brand but any kind of cheese spread is good.
